Hardcover retails for $14.99Tyndale House Publishers sent me a book a few weeks ago called Big Thoughts For Little People written by Kenneth N. Taylor. I can honestly say that this was one of the best Children's books that I have ever read to my kids (and have been a kindergarten teacher, I have read a lot!)
Big thoughts for little People is written for children in the age range of 3-7 years old. It is a colorful ABC book designed to teach Christian values to children through the illustrations, discussion questions, and bible versus. Taylor devotes a 2 page spread to each letter which represents one aspect of the Christian life. For example, for the letter B we read:
B is for Behave.
It means doing what is right.
Be happy and helpful.
Do not argue or fight.
Taylor then asks children to look at the accompanying picture and includes discussion questions for the adult to ask:
Do you know what "behave" means?
Are the girls in the picture behaving? What are they doing?
Point to the puppies. What are they doing?
The discussion ends with the bible verse:
[Jesus said,] "If you love me, obey me."
JOHN 14:15
Madison is always eager to read few pages at night. It is perfect before bed and gave us a great platform to reflect on our own day. HIGHLY recommended!
